  1. Event at Automobile Museum

    Posted 10 Jun 2011

    Hi guys

Just had a phone call from a guy at the Automobile Museum here in Launceston. Apparently LAFM are running a promotion down there (in conjunction with Autobarn) on Sunday the 18th and are looking for 2 80s era cars to go along with their display.

Would anybody with a suitable car be interested in doing this? The cars will only need to be there from 10am-2pm so it's not a big day.

If you can do this please let me know, I have the details of the guy you need to talk to at LAFM to arrange it all.

    Cheers

    Ben
  2. Grundig 82cm 100hz Widescreen CRT etc

    Posted 24 Aug 2010

We recently upgraded our TV and have our old one kicking around gathering dust.

It's a Grundig MFW 82-3110 - quality European TV, it's a 100 hz, 82cm widescreen. Cost me close to $3000 when originally purchased (it'd be approx 7 years old) - MUCH better than the el cheapo stuff on the market. A review here (translated from German by Google) http://translate.goo... :en-GB:official - sorry, I haven't been able to find any specs online for it.

It comes with a matching stand (as seen in photo below)

Condition is fair, there are a few marks and chips on the bezel around the screen (got knocked about in transit to and from the Silverdome show a few years back) but works perfectly.

For $250 I'll also throw in the 5.1 stereo system we were using as a surround sound system (also shown in pic - I think it's Sharp?) and the cables etc to plug them all in (the TV has 2 x SCART inputs at rear, and VGA in front). The CD tray does not work (we just used the DVD player whenever we wanted to play CDs) but radio/tapes (does anyone still use them??) work fine, gave excellent sound with the TV.

I have remotes etc and can probably even dig out the manuals etc for them too.

    Give me a call/SMS - 0407 485 324

Found on another forum. Not sure if it's been posted here. Enjoy!

  4. Touch Up Guys

    Posted 28 Mar 2010

As topic says, anyone used them? Specifically for minor paint touchups? We bought a mini from the mainland and it has a few scratches that need touching up, some of them are too deep to buff out. It's also had Euro plates on it and has a couple of holes in the front bar that will need filling as they will be visible with standard size plates on it. Was thinking I might get them to go over the whole car and tidy it up, if they were just on one panel I'd just get that panel resprayed but there are a few different places that need doing and it would get expensive for a bodyworks to do them I reckon.

Their website says they have a few franchisees in the north of the state (http://touchupguys.c.. .s/tas_north.php). Just wondering whether anyone has used them and what they were like.
