Have to agree with you Chris, can't see an issue with it at all, well except for the fact that it may have brought home a massive wake up call and reality check to the recipient.

management asks for constuctive input, gets it,gets narky, rings conan to abuse missus. The whole situation has not really been handled well and probably could have been avoided by being upfront with every one instead of scare tactics.Although it is good to see jamie has got onto the forum as this is a simple and free way to promote events.

Now this may be a bit one eyed (and a little off topic), but if there are people on LS1 forums keen for a drag day, why organise a drag day a month prior to this club's day rather than encourage them to come to ours? Wouldn't it be better to have one big successful commodore based day, than two days that possibly dont get as good attendance?

if people commit and show up to both though its a win/win.Make sure people pay up first.Track being prepped or not is a factor too for both these meets

Oh for sure, but if neither day gets the right amount of support or prepayment, and neither go ahead, its a lose/lose.

Thats what I was wondering. Great way to be treating the guys who support the track at every meeting possible. I'm actually wondering whether its worth me sending an email myself if thats what is going to come out of it.

Hi this is Heidi

Just wanted to say it's just not the email thats not good. Other things have been said by Jason Lemon.
We asked for ideas from the people who know, the racers. Sorry we aked at all. If all people can do is bag us out. It has never been said that the dragway will close. Last season alot of money was lost through insurance etc. I know everyone has ideas and different opitions. If you have something you would like to say about the drags contact us. Everyone is writing stuff on forums like this and not getting all the facts.

What else am i supposed to have said Heidi? That i think there is a better way to promote the track? That i am absolutely committed to drag racing in Tasmania? That it is my absolute passion!

Just because Jamie hears feedback that does not conform to his way of thinking does not give him the right to have harsh words with my wife whilst I am picking up my daughter from gymnastics! He asked for it on the website. We can hardly be blamed for what transpired next.

Perhaps i could be more diplomatic when referring to the track manager, but I am unaware of any instances where I have not had the right to voice an opinion - that is called freedom of speech. I apologize if you feel that my opinions of the management and promotion of the track detract from your efforts, but they do not. They are merely different from what he wants to hear. And that is the problem.

There are lots of different and fantastic ideas already posted. There are also lots of enthusiastic racers here too. Listen, act, review.
I want nothing more than to see the track do - not just well- but absolutely fantastically. Your turn now.

It was'nt Jamie that put the post on our website it was me. So, I was asking for input. You just went off about the track owner and he should'nt have bought it. He is the one that has put in the money and lost it not you. So give us your advice and remember thats what I asked for not all the Sh1t to go with it.

As for using the forums to talk about people you and everyone else doesn't know or what situation the track is in it's a waste of time. Everyone is just going around in cirlcles.

The post on the dragway is not to scare to make people go to the drags. It's letting you guys"the racers" know what is going on. We don't want it to close but it may happen.

one word: "MEETING"

if you hold a meeting to let everyone know what is going on then people are going to want to help out.

if the racers know EXACTLY what is happening and WHY it's happening then they are more likely to want to suggest ideas on keeping the track open rather than have the track close n have nowhere for them to go

Welcome to the forums Heidi, and thanks for taking the time to write to us.

If this is the case, its nothing to do with this club or forums, and something that needs to be sorted out between the parties involved. I suggest that all parties take it off the internet. Having a personal disagreement in the middle of discussions about the future of the drags is not a good look.

The people who know what, exactly? A lot of us have raced at the drags at one stage or another. If you only wanted feedback from a certain group of people, perhaps posting up on the website wanting to hear from all racers and rev heads was not a good idea.

I'm sorry to hear that you feel people are bagging you out :( but if you dont know how people feel about the current management of the drags, you aren't going to know what to change and improve. To be honest I think that a lot of the feedback people are giving is at least constructive.

The notice on the website said that there's a chance that no meets will be run this year - sounds like closing to me?

How are we supposed to have the facts if no-one is telling us? We'd love to hear all the facts from you.

Just heard that there is a meeting planned with a couple of guys from Hobart this weekend, then with everybody else in the near future. This is an opportunity to let your views known. I know most of the people writing things on this forum, and i must say it suprises me that they have been having these pre season get together meetings before every season for the last 10 yrs and I haven't seen one of you there yet. (forgive me those who have) It is disappointing that it takes something like this to shake yous up a little. I have been to everyone of these meetings and I have witnessed people sitting there saying nothing for the whole entire meeting then walking out complaining about decisions made. I am not picking on people here but if there is a meeting, and there will be 1, you MUST turn up and you MUST have your say, because if you dont turn up and the track does get closed, well you can only blame yourself. I will be there, I will be giving my opinions and i hope you all do the same.
Hope nobody takes offense at this. That wasn't the way it was intended. Just spurring people on to get behind the sport we love :)
