You get used to those sort of replies from him after a while.
Easy option is the ignore user function and then you know he has posted again but you don't have to waste any of your time reading it, unless your in a particularly masochistic mood that is ;)

not talking from experience or anything but i would imagine it would be fairly simple.
i think that the only wiring going in to the light assm. would be a power and an earth coming out because the map lights and switches would be wired up seperatly internally so if it only has a 2 pin/wire connector at the end it should all work ok just by plugging in to your existing harness.

dont quote me on that though!!!

give it a go and see what happens whats the worst it can do???

I would of thought, if you take the standard one from the roof, the wiring will be there as boosted_vs said, and you can just wire the new one in and re-fit it to ya roof. Can't imagine you will have much trouble but if ya do, come back and ask. :)

Its a very easy job mate, you remove the old one, then there is a perferated section in the roof headlining you need to remove.so the new light will fit.

Then just simply splice the two new wires on the map reading lights into the existing wiring..
any trouble mate shoot me a PM and i can answer any questions,as i did this upgrade on my vn

You asked how hard it was and I told you that its not hard at all. I addressed ever aspect of your question in my answer. Perhaps if you want more information you should be more specific?

Perhaps since he asked in the 'How-tos and Articles' section, and everyone else seemed to take the question as a 'how do i change it over' one, you might have aswell, instead of giving a useless answer in a fairly straight forward thread?

I'm not a mind reader Colin. I don't just go answering questions that haven't been asked.

Your not a mind reader, but you are a c0cksucker.

Should just be a case of unscrewing the standard light, unplugging it from the wiring and replacing it with the calais one? Let us know how you go, I'm thinking of doing the same.
