So you'd rather them stay out and run the risk of hitting the barrier at 200MPH and someone being seriously hurt or killed?
I think the FIA made the right decision, it's Michlin that needs a kick in the a*s.
It really would of made my day if the 2 Ferrari's collided at the end.
A positive note is that Jordan and Minardi got points... which will great benefit them 2 struggling teams, if my maths is correct they would of got 11 and 7 points respectivly, which would of netted those teams a combined bonus of over 30 Million dollars.
It was a shambles, but I can see the whole point.
Of course I dont want to see other drivers injured, I just think that it was a knee- jerk reaction to a single crash which was almost a carbon copy of the driver's exit the previous year (Ralf crashed his Toyota in the same corner in the 2004 race and was outed for 3 months with his injuries)
perhaps if 2 or 3 cars had problems for the same reason, but I think it was overkill when there only appeared to be one car having tyre trouble
I am all for safety in any form of motorsport, but I also believe that there needs to be more evidence pointing to that being the cause before such drastic action is taken
Well done Minardi and Jordan anyways!!
and I couldnt agree with you more about the Ferrari's! I cant help but think they may have had some small part to play in the final decision, it is widely thought that they have their finger in the coffers of the organisers! but who knows???
