ok ive just purchased two pioneer 12inch subs 1000w max-400w rms 4ohm,autobarn has said i should get two kenwood 2ch amp which will bridge giving 500w rms into each sub or a big clarion giving 400w rms into each sub,car acc inst said about an alpine v12 amp giving it 300w rms into each sub im not sure which way to lean i would have loved to a couple of pioneer monoblocks but autobarn thinks they dont make them powerful enough to run these subs hard. any suggestions on other amps that i havent been told about?

Go into Jaycar, and speak to clayton, he is the manager, they have some wicked a*s AMPS in there, the response version, think they even won CAA (car Audio Australia) Amp of the year too!

Im putting the 300W RMS one in my car tomorrow, ill bring the commodore to basketball on monday night and ya can have a listen ;)

I just put a Fusion monoblock in the excel today... (this one) - seems nice, makes 410w RMS which is just about perfect for the sub.

Haven't really played with it much yet but it seems to go much harder than the little two channel I had running the sub before!

I have heard the Jaycar Response AMP are very good value for money. One of my mate had 3 in his car a couple of years ago 1 for the speakers and 1 for his sub. He was very impressed their cost and performance!
