Hey guys, anyone know when wiring up a H/Unit to these later model jiggas, how ya make the antenna go down while u have a CD on? i've got the thing wired to the right wire on the head unit, but this has the antenna up whenever the stereo is on. Is there a way aroud this? Oh yeh, its a pioneer head unit

Cheers in advance,

Murph

Unfortunately thats about it!
Its a remote turn on and switches power when the head unit is on irrespective of whether you are listening to Radio or CD.

Gday Murph, when I got the DVD player put in my VY I got a sneaky little switch put in under the dash so I could leave the antenna down, works a treat ;)

Yep, I just did exactly the same thing in the Trans Am, just wired in a little push button and hid it in the ashtray to switch the antenna up and down. That's a Pioneer head unit too.

I never had this problem with the Alpine head unit in my ute, it went up and down with the radio still...

Apparently it seems to only be the pioneer ones, as they don't have a dedicated pwr ant wire, it's just an amp signal wire. Oh BTW, cat thingy works a treat!!! :D

Wow, my 7 year old Pioneer has an Antenna wire and a seperate Remote wire. Sure that was a $1500 unit, but it was a long time ago too!

Can you please post up what model it is?

Do you have the wiring diagram still? just check it for an antenna wire.

Its a Pioneer DEH-P5800MP.

Definately no antenna trigger, only the amp trigger, which is split into two.

She's working a treat with the little hidden switch, so alls cool :)
