Yeah mate easy as

You have to pull the air vents out on each side and you'll find 2 screws holding them to the dash undo them and pull the air vint thingy out and the cover should come off with ease.
Un screw the 4 screws holding the speakers in and unplug them then remove.

I'm sure thats how i did it.

still need to get some 6 inch raisers in the door

plan is to have 6 inch plus 4 inch 2-ways, 6 inches doing 100 hz to maybe 9000 hz then have the 4 inchers running the 9000 hz plus range... going to make the filters my self at school

lol yeah

im sure ill get to know mine well 2 :P

jsut tought id update

i used a very small screwdriver attaced to a cheepo pair of pliers to get the awkardly placed screws out and have put one pioneer 2-way speaker in. didnt have anoy real problems except with the screws. the magnet fitted in, jaycars appatently dont fit in there so im lucky :P

going to do the other when ive got my energy... so tired

the wiring in them is hell queer

3 wires go to the speaker (blue, blue, yellow) they then lead to an in dash adaptor thing, that then makes the yellow (positvie) a grey wire and then makes the 2 blues differet shades of blue... im to scared to look at the other side :P hehe

ill fill u guys in later and might but a baisc wire colour guide on

Wouldve been easier to just take the whole dashpad out mate. 3 screws above the glovebox, one next to the cluster, and one in the centre below the screen and out she comes!!

ok

today i got the speakers out with a small scrwdriver

wasnt the easiest way but it worked :P

put the pioneer speakers in and wired them up to the existing wiring in the dash, bad idea...

the way the stock speakers are set up is the queerest thing, they onoly use 3 wires for 2 speakers... its some kind of strange series... im baffled

but, all i did was hooked up the frount 2 positives and one of the negatives and its fine... not to sure how much my head unit will apreciate me for it but it seems to go ok.

any one else know exactly what wire does what and... where the hell can i find the ignition 12 v wire in behind the ash try/headunit??

To reply to a thread from a year ago, lol, that speaker wire arrangement is known as common earth. Is a prick of a setup and you're far better off (for your speakers, unit and ears) to run new wires.

But, chances are this car is sold or something now soe it doesn't really matter...

So you'd be the one that went flying past about 4 inches away from me as I was walking up Nelson Rd last week. Slow down you f**king maniac <_<
