OK... bad thought of the month.

I can aquire a Alloytec 175kw inc box and wiring reletively cheap.

I'd like to put it in the old girl!!

What you people recon?
Has anyone heard of it being done?

Seen them in VK!


But I have driven a few Alloytec's (Government car's and my old man's) and they are crap! Got a s**t load of rev's, but not many guts to back it up!

the guts can be fixed... VS is also lighter... i think?

Wonder if the AWD crossmember would fit as well :)

The seem a lot smoother than the old 3.8's..lol

ohhh and in street commy's they are doing an alloytec transplant into that VP or what ever it is..lol I only glanced at the page so not really knowing the full specs...lol

hang on... got the mag here...

I think the overall weight of the late model commodores is why they appear to be less Zippy... putting an Alloytec in an earlier model would make an awesome car...

It also has a lot to do with the electronic throttle. You can foot it and initially it won't take off but once it gets some air in they fly!!

On the SC forums there was a topic about the alloytech being a buzzy engnie

they basicly said the 175 didn't have much power down low but did up high, apparntly the 190 tho had alot more balls down low......

I thought itd be wikid to drop a alloy in the VR if the burick ever kicked the bucket, there was one on ebay for a grand with a auto gearbox.

VR's dont have Buicks. They have the Holden 3800
