ok, just brought a new HDD for the computer, seeing as the mother board had the provisions for 2 S-ATA cables, I figured I'd go with a S-ATA HDD in leu of the IDE ones.

N E ways, plug it all in, got power and on the first boot up screen (after it detects the IDE drives) it then finds the HDD.

Get's into windows XP all good, but won't show an extra drive in my computer (that's fair enough it ain't partitioned or fragmented yet) I also go into hard ware manager and I can find the hdd listed in there. So the computer is able to find the disk.

But.. what I sorta need to know, is how the hell do you partition it? I'm guessing you need to get the computer to boot into Dos and run F_disk (I understand that from old school days)

So yer, any one keen to shed a light on this would be really appreaciated :D

using fdisk is one way, but alot easyer method is:

right clicking on my computer
going manage
going to disk mangment (or something like that)
then selecting the drive right clicking and going format :)

too easy :)
