How do you mean value it exactly Murph? If you were to buy and build it like you have Goughy and Prewer's figures would be close but if you were to buy it as I'd have to say around the 8k mark maybe. Look in the Melbourne Tradingpost and you'll get a good idea what similar cars are going for.
For example mine owes me close to 25k I reacon but I'd say I'll be lucky to get 16k for it.

Best bet is to ring the guys at Shannons and see what they say!!
The value as well as insure cars and take all your modifications into account when giving you a figure!!
If you can manage to talk to Brett Pitfield himself then you wont go far wrong as he is a real car enthusiast himself and understands that cars can have a different value to different people.
Mine for example is insured for $20,000 when market value and average going rates in the trading post etc put it more like $10,000.
Like you said, think of the price it would cost you to "replace" what you have now, not buy something similar!

When was it that you rang??
They have had a big shake up over the last couple of years and actually insure a much bigger variety of cars than ever.
They used to be only interested in old skool or heavily modified cars.
They will now insure most things that are a little bit different from the norm. Just cause the burned you once, dont let that stop ya from giving them a second chance! If they let you down again then fair enough but I dont reckon they will!!
