Yes, well... A few class action lawsuits do tend to get a company's attention....
Anyway let's not get into the Linux Vs. Windows debate. Both are good for what they're designed for, but in my opinion *nix has a fair way to go before any mere mortal can use it on their desktop pc.....

One server is running on my own edition of Knoppix, one running Red Hat and one running Windows Server 2003.... lets just say Windows are good for desktops in a small way....but are CRAP for servers.... so yeah...

Yes... well...
I have two desktops, a laptop and a server here. Have used everything from Windows ME onwards on the desktop (including 2003 Server) and also ran *nix full time on this box for a fair while (Fedora) but also dual booted it with Red Hat and Debian at times.
The server has run Debian as well as Fedora (I had to run Fedora as I wanted to use it as a webserver running Plesk; unfortunately Plesk doesn't have a release for Debian yet)....
So um... yeah. Yes Linux is good for servers (IF properly configured, which is a BIG deal to do). I would argue that windows is just fine as a server too, but it too has to be properly configured and kept updated.
But we weren't talking about servers.... we were talking about desktops. I've tried Lindows as well... I didn't think it was anything too fantastic, Click N Run was great (when it didn't spiral into dependency hell) but I couldn't test it out too much because I wasn't going to pay for anything! To me the beauty of Linux is that almost any software tool you want is available for free... but the downside of it is that many things don't "just work" - you really need to use Google a LOT when you're learning it and you can't be scared of a command prompt. It's not for the faint hearted.
Bottom line... most people here wouldn't want to even try Linux, it would be just too hard for them....
