Figured I'd post a basic pic by pic of how I'm going about making an engine bay cover. I'm guessing there are better ways about doing this, but where's the fun in paying for someone else to do it ;)

Pic #1

Had to take the snorkles off and move anything else that got in the way.

I made a cut out of the main space that I wanted to fill, I used a bit of old MDF, guess anything will do the trick.

I used some plastic (i.e cut up rubbish bags) to cover most of the engine bay that could possibly get some fibreglass spilt on it... I guess cheap insurance.

Across the front of the engine bay there is limited space between the bonnet and the top of the radiator, I've tried to adapt the shape of the items with my masking in hope that the cover will flow the same shape... I can see some cut and shutting going on here in latter stages <_<

Last one for this evening.

Just another shot of the same as above, just another angle.

ohhh and before any one ask... the Tennis ball hangs from the roof, I drive up till I touch it and I know that I have roughly a foot between the rear of the car and the roller door ;)

This is only the minor part of the clean up for the car show, need to be in Launny on the 7th of next month for the sticker bloke (trying to get the show prac on the same day)

Then it comes off the road for the 3 weeks leading up to the car show.

Yeah the SENATOR car got the idea back in my head, but originally seen it done on a red VT Clubby, think it was supercharged. The feature was many moons ago though.

That Senator is nuts though, that bloke has spent some serious time doing the work on that, the manifold cover is awesome!

Looking good mate.

Can't wait to see the final product.

Planning on modifying the bonnet similar to SENATOR???? I think that bonnet sets the VN/VP shape off. :D
