Im trying to suss out what i need to swap out my LS1 to a LS3..

now i know it will bolt straight up, but will all my ancillaries bolt on (alt, ac, P/steer etc)? i know i need to change wiring loom, but i can still use my computer and get it re mapped?

will my blower bolt to the LS3? (im thinking it might be a tad undersized tho? its only a 112)

and lasst, who knows where to get a LS3? was thinking a crate motor maybe? as a really stupid thought, wats a LS7 worth?? be much the same install id imagine?

cheers

Ray

Lots of difference there bud, knock sensors, cam position sensor, valley plates, valley of block needs tapping and blocking or you loose oil pressure, reluctor wheel different size, can use a convertion box

but i wouldn't, computers are different, loom can be moded or change to different loom?injectors are different as are rails, 112 too small really for that size engine they can even run out of puff on 5.7

few other things. Not impossible just a bit involved if your serious on it i can get ya all the details if ya want shoot me a pm..cheers

I did think about this, but then i have a highly strung motor that "could" go bang at any stage... and i need it to be reliable as it spends 80% of its time in the bush... atm im dragging it all round cape york.... if i put a stock LS7 (maybe a cam) then i have a motor thats working well within its designed limits.....

Right, the LS7 is looking to become a reality, still on the drawing board but its a long way up there...

So the big question is, where to buy an engine for a "reasonable" price
