Hey guys, im looking to finally start building my car.... finish my Apprenticeship tomorrow! :D Ive noticed you can get a range of stroker kits for around the 2 - 3 grand mark So I was thinking about starting there. Only problem I dont understand to much about engine internals. would a stroker kit come ready to put into a standard v6 ecotec motor? or am I looking at heaps of hidden costs aswell?

Dont worry about the stroker kits, the best thing you should do is wait for a supercharged v6 calais or something at the fowles/ pickles auctions and get a donor.

Those motors are way tougher than the standard v6 internally, and you are looking at similar sort of money but way more power potential with a super6, seen a few people go down this route quite affordably and you can do most of the work yourself. you will never get 300 kw out of a standard v6 but buy a supercharged v6 and spent $3k on it (about $6-7k all up + ur time = free) and you will frighten new ve's as the vs commies are much lighter and you will have similar power. Anything above 250kw will be a bit piggish to drive daily

Heaps of options with a super 6, leave the stroker kit on the shelf IMO
