Had a talk to a mate with a MR2 (from HBT) and he got chatted for having a reflective sticker on the back window. The cop made him remove it then and there apparently. His passenger vouched for it cause he had to get out and help remove the sticker before they could move on.

So re-think thos reflective sticker ideas guys, cause if you get a prick cop it might cost you the car for a night :o

I have never heard of this before - they just dont let up, do they!!!! I wouldnt have thought it to be any different than the reflectors in your lights, but there you go.....

Wouldnt happen to be a red turbo MR2 would it??

Geez thats harsh, I mean, what harm will they do?
Do you find it strange they pick on our cars, but if you look at some cops cars they have a few defects. I read that some highway chasers in Melbourne had engine leaks, Non standard air filter, tyres balding slightly on the innards AND a Ford had electrical problems. They'd press down the on the window opener and it would unlock the rear doors.
That last one really isn't a defect but it could end in someone escaping.

Yet they insist on something trivial likes this or Daves blue number plate light. It's Hypocritical!!!!

Hmm good point. But thats different, it's a emergency vehicle. People need to notice it, so no offence but I think it would be a hard fight to win. :(

during the last year i've had a whole series of reflective white stickers on my utes in the past....
here's a selection...
the smaller utez.com stickers were 400mm wide and were both reflective... the other bigger utez.com sticker was on my current ute and that was 1200x400mm (thats right 1.2 meters long) and FILLED the back screen... and the other little one is a 400mm tassiecruiseclub sticker
with all of these, i have cruised and done blockies and stuff and NEVER had a problem...
maybe the issue is the blocking of rear view mirrors???

The sticker on the back of the Mr2 wasn't any where near as big as yours, but it was almost like chrome finish, it was pretty bright. Bit still not warranting being told to remove.

I was talking to Cam (Mate copper of mine) and he said there is no law that can make people take off stickers UNLESS it's taking up more then 40% of the window AND if it can be a obstraction. But it's one of those laws like driving into the driveway forwards, it's illegal but no one worries about it....until now anayway
