Today I have officially resigned to the committee, my position of President of The Commodore Club of Tasmania Inc.
This has been an extremely tough decision for me to make, however I believe that I can no longer serve the Club in this main role. This is due to a variety of reasons, including the financial change of buying our own home, and a new job which requires a lot more of my time than I expected.
Being involved in the club has been a massive part of my life for the past 6 years, and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to help start such an amazing club, including meeting some great people (many who I now consider family), and help bring events to the car community here in Tassie which would never have happened if not for the club.
I would like to extend a huge, massive, heart felt thank you to all current and past club members - you've all been fantastic supporters over the years.
In particular, I would like to thank every person who has taken on board a position on the committee, be it for a short time or the long haul - you guys and girls have done such great jobs, no-one really realises how huge it is to take on board these voluntary positions, including putting up with plenty of crap! You all did it so well, so thank you.
Without members and committee people there is no club, and its because of each and every one of you that this club has acheived so much over the years.
So again I would like to thank everyone for their efforts and support - now its time for someone else to take up the reins, and no doubt make the club better than ever before.
I still plan to be an active member of the club, so you haven't quite gotten rid of me yet - no doubt I'll see you all around in the near future
Cheers,
Jess
