Ok so I got some questions here about HDT VK's
Any help would be sweet and yes I've tried google but on a phone it's not the easiest

1. I know not all HDT's had a build plate so question is, how else can you tell 1? Any other numbers on the car define a HDT or ADP

2. The HDT website states that the director was given a build id of 333 for the auto and 334 for the fully optioned director with a manual, does this mean there is a chance a good chance a 333 pack vk is a director??

Any help would be good thanks, also any info about 333 packs woukd be good

During the VK runs, all HDT had build plates. Its only the VC and VH didn't have them standard. I can tell a HDT, during 1980-1988, got a book here that has nearly all build numbers, often called the Brock Bible.

Now, the site is wrong. 333 pack is auto Director, 334 is 4 speed manual Director, also there is before Director, an ADP Calais 333 or 334. Both can be fully optioned, scheel seats and leather, sunroof better stezza.

333 is the option pack code, 3 means Calais, 3 means 5 litre V8 and 3 means auto. the 4 in 334 means 4 speed manual.

So, what you have is a 333 pack VK Calais.
What they have is the following, 5 litre V8(L31 or LV2 on ENG code), M40( 3 speed trimatic) and G70 is 2.60:1 diff ratio.
L31 is 308, LV2 is 304

The 334 pack has the same but V5H(hipo engine(HDT)) M21 4 speed gearbox.

Thanks mate I figured you'd be the 1 in here posting lol should of just asked for ya.

Anyways with the build plate bit you say all VK HDT's had a build plate? Now I'm not saying your wrong here but I've seen a "HDT" vk that had no hdt build plate on firewall, on the few accounts I've seen it the owner says they have the papers coming from hdt but no ID plates??

So is it possible for HDT to not tag all? Or could it just be a load of s**t this guy is feeding me. He tells me he has gave them all ID numbers/letters on car and is waiting on papers

In my eyes it's a load of s**t and only a 333 pack vk calais, I don't need another vk calais I've got 2 but if it was a director I'd consider it

It would be a load of bull dust easy. All HDT VK onwards(even WB Magnums) had build plates due to HDT being a secondary manufacture, that is ADR law.

Take a ADP Berlina say, might have a set of wheels and better suspension but still gained a build plate.

There is a way i can tell just buy the tag number, the thinner plate with a letter and numbers.

Also, there should be marks on the firewall if it did have a HDT build plate.

Looks for VX69 on the model code on the build plate.

As for VB SL/E option codes, its pretty large.

If the one you said is, its just the base SL/E. No option pack number.

My gold one is a 308 pack, has 308/4 speed manual standard

OK, here is VB SL/E option packs
Already said what one you have looked at, no option pack number.

"306" Pack
253, 3 speed auto, electric windows and locking.

"307" pack
253, M20 4 speed manual, elec windows and locking

"308" Pack
308, M21 4 speed manual, LSD diff, dual zorst

"310" Pack
308, TH350 or TH400 auto, elec windows and locking, LSD diff and dual zorst

"302" pack, AFAIK, same as the base VB SL/E, just 202 motor instead of 253.

Oh and these option pack numbers aren't on the build plate, they had them on VC onwards.
