Howdy

In the process of buying the wife a newish car, and decided to put a decent entertainment system in it for her. Got three young kids, and we spend a bit of time on the road so I figured they'd appreciate it

Starting with an Alpine IVA-W502E double din 7" dvd player, headrest screens with wireless headphones, paddle control module, bluetooth adapter, and the usual upgrade to factory speakers with parcel shelf speakers, spilts in the front.

Anyway, if the budget stretches, should I bother with an amp? Not into loud music, and with a young baby there's no need for subs, but will the head unit benefit from the installation of an amp?

Only went for this model head unit as it has the option of rear entertainment, so the kids can watch a movie while we listen to the ipod. Has anyone had any experience with these head units? Is the sound quality superior to the cheaper competitors?

Cheers
