Just saw your other thread marko.

If I was you I would pull the box out and get it looked at before looking for another one. Those boxes are not cheap to buy, you may find if it's just synchros that it may not be all that expensive to replace them.

I had some synchro issues with my ute gearbox (6 speed Tremec like yours) and had to get them fixed twice, both times pulling it down and replacing synchro rings and locking tabs cost me circa $800 odd. I would be surprised if you'll get a decent second hand gearbox for that and even if you do, it'll be an unknown quantity. At least if you fix yours the mechanic can check it for general wear and tear while it's out and you'll know for sure that it's solid.

Have ya tried droppng the oil and Putting a fresh lot in? I did that to Tegans SS (same as yours) and it made it 1million times better. Just used some dex 3 and a tube of nulon additive ;)

He's up here in the N/West ,But not at Sheffield anymore, i dropped the box into Shaw's Automotive in Devonport, and he picked it up from there, He has a workshop at his place in Barrington. Number for Him is (03) 64923110.
As i said before VERY thorough, knows his gearboxes, i can't fault his work.

If you've changed the oil how did you go about filling it?

May sound like a silly question but there is actually and 'overfill' procedure for these boxes to help with shift quality.

Fill it with oil as usual (to the level of the filler plug) then add another half litre of oil through the shifter ;)

Also what oil are you using in it?

hey bud it was done at shaws auto in dev so not sure wat they put in it i would say they would have used the factory stuff eeits just the vibration and popping out of 4th gear which is the problem mite try the extra half a litre down the shifter but i reckon its internal so will have to see but cheers

Also feels s**t changin down into 3rd and 1st, was considering buying a new VZ box for 2900 not long ago, anyone got any more on this issue????

If it is not jumping out of gear just vibrating check the rubber donuts in the tail shaft for cracks between the bolts, they cause a horrible vibration specially on down changes i have gone through a couple of them lol....
