Hey All,
Noticed on a few threads here that some of you guys have plugged Fuel Tech, but they have a shocking reputation (one guy said to me that he wouldnt take his BMX there!) amongst the people I spend time with.

Got a friend with a Pulsar ET (Turbo), and his car broke recently - when they pulled apart the block, they sat it on a bench and a heap of sand fell out of it - apparently when he had something done at Fuel Tech, they sandblasted it and didnt clean the sand out of it! You should see his pistons - the big ridges sand has scratched in them is crazy. The people who are re building the car reckon its the reason it f*cked up in the first place.

So do you guys think they are alright, or is Fuel Tech a last opinion as well for you?

Id be very careful what you say on a public forum, the guy who runs it come to the HCC dyno day and cruze so there isnt any reason y he wouldnt have a look at this site.

Darren and I got our cars scrutineered there for the dyno day and they seemed very profesional and their workshop was immaculate i was nearly too scared to drive on the workshop floor.

Just be careful, things like this can end up in court real quick maybe a good idea to delete this thread Ben ??

Pete's ute is pretty awesome! it sounded pretty sweet on the cruise. Don't know the business well enough to comment, but the ute he had with him down south was pretty insane.

I guess it's the same with most workshops, I had a mate that went to Pro Automotive and came away dissapointed with the outcome, but there have been some awesome jobs leave the workshop.

I have a mate who goes there and his VL has 220rwkw and he swears by them. I really couldn't see them not cleaning out after sand blasting it. Suppose it could happen but very unlikely.

I can understand why you think I should be 'careful', but I was just wondering what people's experience with Fuel Tech was, and quoting an experience a friend of mine had. I was surprised that people I know with performance cars didnt rate them, but people on here did, and was interested why. I dont mean any offence.

I saw it with my own eyes! It was the only thing my friend could think of - the one and only time he had taken his car anywhere to have something done was then, and they sandblasted it. Plus he hadnt been near the beach!!! So we put 1 and 2 together....

But going off what other people have said about them on here, perhaps it was just an unlucky one off....

No offence but sometimes 1+1 = 3. Just search all possible aera's and get it sorted from there.

Yeah usually if the workshop is clean, their job will be clean.

Or, they are that bored cause they don't ever get work that they just clean the workshop :P

Pete from Fueltech helped with the build & tune my VH and he has been great. He has great mechanical & diagnostic skills. They pride themselves on making cars perform better & more fuel efficient rather than just services.
