It's like building a 253. You can do it if you want, but you're better off puring the same moneyV8nto a V8, it'll go better and more than likely be more reliable.

imo not worth it at all, unless you are chasing huge power. better off getting a smaller pulley, RRs, heads, cam done for the money.

pfft
i have serious doubts its a 4.2, ive had a good look at the vehicle and the invoice for the work done seems to be a fair way up on the bullshit scale...

Sorry, should of said throw a v8 in it like every other idiot does.

It was the right advice to give imo. And have u been in a boosted/heads/cam v6 before? id say you would be surprised.

Thats what I heard anyway. I was also told that it had a freshen up at Fueltech so Besty would be the man to ask.

it can be done and it can be done very well...

is it worth it when sticking with a naturally aspirated build?... i'd say not, but i mean if you want to throw 10k at building a stout V6 to crank out an aspirated 200rwkw then go for it...

but my money is that the highly strung aspirated V6 cracking out serious numbers (200rwkw) will not last as long as a larger engine with mild mods (exhaust and tune only LS1 will get you over 200rwkw)... ohh, and it'll probably use more fuel than a 5.7 litre V8 making the same horsepower at the back wheels also...

of course things change when you add forced induction... but now your 10k for 200rwkw has turned into 20k for 300rwkw...
thats a lot of horsepower from a small engine i know...

but...

is there a chance that the sale price of your car plus the 10k - 20k it will take to build a quick six from nothing could get you into something with a better base engine?
if there is, then you need to think seriously about what you're going to throw your money into...

its not always worth being 'different' by sticking with the little engine... the misty eyed love for the V6 and the pant bulging fantasies of beating a V8 with the little engine are often not all they are cracked up to be...

i wonder if one TTV6 VT (said to be 4.2) owning gentleman would go back in time if he could and start again with a better base????
